What makes you, you? š¤
A mosaic is defined as an image produced by arranging pieces together -- the small pieces that create you. š§©
At age 50, this is mine...
I always put my phone away to watch movies because filmmaker @skyvirker helped me learn how to intentionally watch, & feel films. š±š„
I now paint my nails in neutral tones because my makeup guru sister Jasmine says it shaves 10 years off. I also stopped buying fashion magazines years ago. ā
I walk a lot -- beautiful walking partners and our puppy Johnny just make life better. šāš¦ŗ
I have a simple skin/hair care routine. My influencer sister Jacqui / @sarishabeauty showed me how less is more. And my hairdresser @frizzzy10 taught me hair must be healthy. šš»āāļø Plus, with the magic of micro blading by @inneta0829 at @visageuppercanada , I no longer need short bangs. šš»āāļø
I talk. About love, parenting, & life. My friend @vicky_gill_gonzalez & her family taught me that when we share, we learn. My sister Lena taught me this too. š
I (finally) cherish being brown, knowing part of my heart is always in India. š®š³ A big family trip before quarantine taught me that. āļø And a slew of amazing friends.
I assign myself & others homework -- things to work on -- @miavirk has shown me, and my lovely in laws, the young can lead the old. āš½
I look at the big picture, and try not to freak out -- because our son has taught me a problem isnāt a problem until it is a problem (even when itās a bad report card). š
I rely on a few good people -- my brother in law Roger showed me that your team never leaves you, growing with each new member. šš½ My best friend ingrained in me one person cannot be your everything.āš½
I help people because my Mom, Dad, sisters, & brother have picked me up, many times over, when I most needed it. šš½
I worry (a little) less because my husband has shown me not only what strength looks like, but how wrong judgement is. šŖš½
We change, we grow, we shine! š«
We are the living memory of every person that has ever mattered to us. And can now be part of the mosaic of those around us. š
Whatās YOUR mosaic?
Beautifully stated. Love this.
