We took our teens to New York. An impromptu road trip. š
In an effort to spend time together as the summer comes to an end ā we were going to bond, dammit. šš½
[Much of what we endeavour to do as parents is undo whatever damage we may have caused at whatever given time.]
Even though I wanted to just stay home with our puppy, I adjusted my attitude, donned my walking shoes, and we hit the road! šš
One of the activities we were lucky enough to attend was @hyprov - an off Broadway show currently running at the Daryl Roth Theatre. šŖš
What a delight! š
Master hypnotist @asadmecci used his ever so soothing voice and skill, to put several random audience members under hypnosis. Add to that, improv guru Colin Mochrie (Whose Line Is It. Anyway?) who proceeded to engage those same people in improv acting.
And boy did they engage!
Right before our eyes, in a fully hypnotic state, becoming performers, they entertained us to our heartās delight!
Anyone who has the opportunity to check out Hyprov, GO see it!
Combing hypnosis with improvised theatre ā what a fascinating and unforgettable experience!
We were fortunate enough talk with Asad and Colin after the show, as well as producer Sarah Power. It was wonderful! Outside we then ran into one of the audience members who had been hypnotized. He came in as a skeptic, and shared with us how his amazement at how susceptible he was to Asadās mastery. Inhibitions gone, following Colinās lead, he was able to perform incredibly, whatever tasks he was given.
Our son, a skeptic himself, learned of the merits of hypnotherapy, unaware of its use in the treatment of people. āš½
Kudos to everyone at Hyprov for a remarkable experience! And for helping our kids fall in complete love with the big apple! š
